Just For Laughs postponed
Montreal’s Just for Laughs festival, the year’s biggest comedy industry event, has become the latest victim of the coronavirus lockdown.
Originally scheduled for the last two weeks of July, the mammoth endeavour will now take place from September 29 to October 11.
Charles Décarie, president and chief executive of the Just For Laughs Group, said in was testament to his staff that the event could be rescheduled at such short notice.
He said in a statement: ‘We are energised by the ability of our teams to adapt to current conditions and present a festival redesigned in its form and content.
‘The teams in place at Just For Laughs worked hard to achieve this feat and look forward to offering Quebecers, and our international visitors the very best in comedy.’
And he said that in the autumn ‘together we can celebrate life that is resuming its course’.
