C4 comedy attracts a record audience
Friday Night Dinner returned to Channel 4 with its biggest ever audience on Friday.
An average of 2.4 million viewers saw the comedy, starring Simon Bird, Tom Rosenthal, Tamsin Greig, Paul Ritter and Mark Heap.
The figure – representing 13.7 per cent of all viewers at the time – is Channel 4’s biggest overnight audience for a comedy series since the IT Crowd in 2007.
It was especially strong among younger viewers, attracting more than 40 per cent of all 16-34-year-olds who were watching from 10pm, a total of 916,000 people.
