Russell Howard's European tour dates pulled

Another coronavirus casualty

Russell Howard has announced the cancellation of almost the entrire European leg of his world tour because of coronavirus.

Promoters have pulled his Respite gig in Munich tonight and the comic is now heading back to the UK.

Other cancelled dates are in Cologne, Berlin, Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Bergen, Antwerp, Zurich and Gothenburg, all between now and April 5.

It is hoped the dates can be rescheduled.

Remaining European gigs in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Budapest, Vienna and Helsinki are still on sale but a spokesperson for his agents Avalon said: ‘The situation is moving quickly.’

Howard himself tweeted: ‘I’m really sorry to say that some of my European tour gigs have to be cancelled due to the coronavirus.

‘It’s completely out of my hands but we’re gonna reschedule them for later in the year.’

He later added: ‘I’m so gutted that this has happened.’
