Lifers coming to Spotify next week

Ed Gamble is to launch a new heavy metal podcast.

The comic will talk to some of the genre’s biggest names names including Cradle of Filth’s Dani Filth, Diamond Head’s Brian Tatler and Grim Reaper’s Steve Grimmett over the eight-part series, to be called Lifers.

Although Gamble admits he has a ‘Coldplay face’, he is a connoisseur of the genre, a frequenter of the sweaty, beer-soaked mosh pit.

He said: ‘Despite looking like a Christian, I am metal to my molten core. The opportunity to meet so many ironclad legends of the scene, and find out what keeps them battling through it all, was a massive treat. 

‘I can’t wait for metalheads and normalheads alike to hear what we’ve managed to capture. To be fair, I don’t make myself look more metal by using phrases like "massive treat" do I?’

Lifers will be available weekly on Spotify – which is funding the podcast – on Thursdays from next week.
