The Parapod Movie hits the road
Comedians Ian Boldsworth and Barry Dodds are to tour the country with their Parapod Movie, the first podcast ever to be turned into a film.
The pair turned to listeners to fund the project, and last month treated backers to a world premiere at the Prince Charles Cinema in London.
Now they have announced 13 screenings around the UK, each of which will be followed by a Q&A.
The podcast began in 2015 when lifelong paranormal believer Dodds, and hardwired skeptic Boldsworth decided to start recording their arguments about the existence of ghosts. It attracted 2.3million downloads over three series.
Directed by Boldsworth, the new 108-minute movie tracks the duo as they travel the UK in a souped-up hearse, visiting the most haunted village in the world, the home of the world’s most violent poltergeist and the underground labyrinths of Edinburgh.
The ParaPod Movie, which has been given a 15 certificate, is produced by Bil Bungay, whose credits include Diego Maradona and Nuryev.
