Scot Squad's Cameron Miekelson to grill Scotland's political leaders

Scotland's political leaders are to be questioned by the police – in an election special fronted by Scot Squad’s Chief Commissioner Cameron Miekelson.

Jack Docherty will don the uniform to grill SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon; acting Scottish Tory leader Jackson Carlaw; Labour’s Richard Leonard and Willie Rennie of the Liberal Democrats.

It follows a similar special three years ago when Greg McHugh conducted interviews  n the guise of Gary Tank Commander before a Scottish Parliamentary election.

In character, Docherty said: 'I, Chief Commissioner Cameron Miekelson, the unbiased, politically neutral and completely above board leader of the Scottish Police force, am very excited to be making this election special for BBC Scotland.

‘Who knows, maybe being around the most successful public figure in modern history will rub off on the politicians in positive ways?’

The show, made by the Comedy Unit, will air on BBC Scotland on  December 4.
