Joel Dommett set to become Mr Saturday Night

ITV 'lines up comic to front celebrity talent show'

Joel Dommett is reportedly set to front a Saturday night prime time show for ITV.

The comedian has been lined up to host the celebrity talent show The Masked Singer, The Sun reports today.

It is a remake of a South Korean programme that has also spawned a US version hosted by Nick Cannon and featuring  Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger as judges.

In each episodes, 12 famous names don head-to-toe costumes to belt out songs in front of the judges. Rapper T-Pain won the first season in February, as ‘Monster’

Dommett became familiar to ITV viewers after being crowned runner-up in I’m A Celebrity in 2016, and has just finished hosting the panel show Hey Tracey! for ITV2.

He will also continue to host I’m A Celebrity’s Extra Camp in Australia this autumn, but his co-hosts Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash are standing down.

Last week, he posted a picture of himself and last year’s Queen Of The Jungle Emily Atack with the cryptic message: ‘Great to be reunited with this one. The advert for the project that we are not allowed to talk about will soon be out and we will be allowed to talk about it #allowed.'

ITV declined to comment on The Sun’s report.

Here's a clip where T-Pain – who usually uses autotune in his work - was revealed to be the star beneath the Monster suit.
