Susan Calman to uncover more Secret Scotland
Susan Calman is to make a second series of her Channel 5 travelogue. Secret Scotland.
The broadcaster has commissioned six more episode from makers IWC Media and Motion Content Group – one more than the first series.
In February, the first episode attracted 1.8million viewers, according to consolidated figures, making it one of C5’s top-10 highest-rated shows of the year so far.
The new series is expected to air later this year, and C5 factual commissioning editor Guy Davies told trade magazine Broadcast: ‘We can’t wait for Susan to bring back her wit, insight, enthusiasm and sense of fun in a second run of this lively travelogue.’
Calman is also the voice of the new Caledonian Sleeper trains, making the automated announcement on the service between Scotland and London.
She said: ‘I spend almost as much time on the Caledonian Sleeper as I do in my own house and so it was a great pleasure to give voice to the new trains.
‘I look forward to being woken up by myself. Although it might give me a fright occasionally.’
