MANCHESTER: The Frog and Bucket's weekend club nights extend into Sunday today, thanks to Jesus making tomorrow a bank holiday. The strong line-up comprises Bobby Mair, Dan Nightingale, Kate Lucas and Barry Dodds.
Tuesday April 23
BRIGHTON: American comic Bert Kreischer, who trades on a 'party machine' image, starts a five-night UK run at the Komedia. He's then at the Bath branch tomorrow, followed by Hackney Arts Centre on Thursday, Glasgow's SWG3 on Friday and Manchester's Dancehouse on Saturday.
Wednesday April 24
RADLETT: Led by Angus Deayton, the cast of cult sketch comedy Radio Active are hitting the road for a 40th anniversary tour, having previously reunited for the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe. Deayton, with Helen Atkinson Wood, Michael Fenton Stevens and Philip Pope, made seven series of the Radio 4 show from 1980 to 1987 featuring such characters as long-suffering radio host Mike Channel, foodie Anna Daptor, and the accident-prone Martin Brown. Thursday April 25
BRIGHTON: Memorable audience participation and well-drawn characters combine in The Adam Riches Experience, as the three-time Chortle Award winner kicks off a new tour at Komedia. Full dates here.
KINGSTON: Ed Byrne performs a rare club date at Outside the Box at the Fighting Cocks pub. There's a strong supporting line-up too, with musical maestro Vikki Stone, blind observational comic (!) Chris McCausland and regular MC Maff Brown
Friday April 26
CAMBRIDGE: Sofie Hagen hits the road with a combined stand-up and book tour, kicking off at the Junction tonight. The evening will feature her 2015 Edinburgh best newcomer-winning comedy show Bubblewrap, which is about body image, mental health and boybands, followed by a book reading from and a Q&A for her upcoming book Happy Fat, about why it's OK to be fat. LONDON: If you like improv there's literally hours of it at The Miller in London Bridge, as Hoopla stages a UK and Ireland Improv Festival from 7pm to 11.30pm tonight, and 5pm to gone midnight tomorrow. There are back-to-back shows (Details here) and it's a tenner a night for all of them.
