Eric Idle's home evacuated in anthrax scare

Officers in hazmat suits give all-clear

Eric Idle’s Hollywood home was evacuated last night after a suspicious white powder was sent there.

Emergency crews in hazmat suits descended on his property after a package that was feared to contain anthrax was received there.

However, according to Deadline, one officer on the scene said they found no powder and there was ‘no hazard to be concerned about’.

Two women taken to hospital as a precaution showed no symptoms.

The 71-year-old ex-Python shares the home in the Hollywood Hills with his wife Tania Kosevich. It is next to the home of Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher.

The suspicious letter was reportedly posted from Thailand.

Five people died and 17 were infected by anthrax in letters posted to media outlets and to two Democratic US senators in the aftermath of the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.
