Dylan Moran, Shappi Khorsandi and Nish Kumar are among those playing

Croatia is getting a new international comedy festival, headlined by Dylan Moran and organised with the Soho Theatre

Shappi Khorsandi, Nish Kumar and Rose Matefeo are also among the acts due to appear the first Comedy Fortress Festival, playing on an open air stage in an ancient landmark.

St. Michael's Fortress in Šibenik, Central Dalmatia, which dates from the Middle Ages, has stunning views over the Adriatic Sea and is now an award-winning cultural attraction.

Also playing the festival are Russian Olga Koch, nominated for the best newcomer award at Edinburgh last year, Brit Kai Humphries, Kiwi Javier Jarquin, Aussie-based Irishman Jimeoin and Croatians Vlatko Štampar and Nikola Silić.

The festival runs from July 12 to 14 with early-bird weekend tickets available here, priced £60.
