Comic facing jail for abusing women
Scottish comedian JD Brown is facing jail after he carried out a campaign of abuse against two women.
The stand-up – real name John David McDade – abused Leigh McDiarmid between 2011 and 2014, including locking her in his home and seizing her by the throat, pinning her down
It was followed by a three-year campaign of abuse against Rhea Jack, where at one point he recorded her in a distressed state and threatened to send the footage to her employer and at another time threw a hot drink on her face.
After admitting the charges at Airdrie Sheriff Court, McDade is now facing prison and is due to be sentenced on March 27, the Daily Record reports.
McDiarmid told the paper: ‘He deserves all he gets. It’s been hell and I’m glad it’s now over.’
