Boosh and League Of Gentlemen come to vinyl

Releases for Record Store Day

The complete Mighty Boosh radio series and last year’s League Of Gentlemen live show are to be released on vinyl to mark Record Store Day.

Both titles will be published by Demon Records for the 12th annual event celebrating independent record stores, taking place on April 13 this year.

Noel Fielding and Julian Barrett recorded their six-episode series in 2001 – originally for BBC London Live and then going out on Radio 4. It was their first commission following the success of their live shows at Edinburgh, and was produced by Danny Wallace, who would go on to collaborate with Dave Gorman before becoming an author.

The new release will be the first time the series has been available on vinyl and will comprise three coloured, paint-spattered, 180g discs.

Just 1,000 copies will be printed with new artwork by Fielding and co-star Dave Brown and sleeve notes by Barratt.

Ashlie Green from David’s Music in  Letchworth, Hertfordshire, added: ‘Noel and Julian are rock stars, so it seems fitting that this will come out for Record Store Day.  I’m so excited this will get renewed attention, because it’s flipping hilarious.’

Demon Records will also be releasing 1,250 copies of  The League Live Again, as recorded at the Hammersmith Apollo last year and pressed on two  ‘Lazarou coloured’ vinyl.

Other Record Store Day releases include a seven-inch picture disc from Chas & Dave to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the classic Only Fools and Horses episode, ‘he Jolly Boys’ Outing. It includes a previously unreleased version of their song Margate from the episode.
