Food for your ears
The week's comedy on demand.
Off Menu with James Acaster and Ed Gamble
The comedy duo have launch a new food-based podcast, appropriately enough on the Acast network, in which the comics chat to guests about their ideal meal: starter, main course, dessert, side dish and drink.
Scroobius Pip is up first with future episodes featuring Grace Dent, Joel Dommett and Richard Osman.
The pair - both regulars on Mock The Week – previously made a video series called Just Puddings in which Acaster describes sweet treats to diabetic Gamble.
Listen to the new podcast on iPlayer or Acast.
Russell Brand: Re:Birth
The loquacious stand-up ruminates on the state of the world and marvels over how his life changed the moment he became a father in this new Netflix special, recorded in London. Watch here.
The Young Offenders
As we reported earlier in the week, the BBC has dumped a huge wodge of box sets on to iPlayer in a bid to take on Netflix this festive season. We recommend The Young Offenders, if you didn't catch it first time around, a riotous comedy about the misadventures of tearaways Conor and Jock in inner-city Cork. Thea-Skot Through The Heart And You're To Blame
The powerhouse improviser and character comedian provides this week's new release for stand-up streaming service NextUp. Recorded at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, the high-octane show features ballads from a lovelorn Oyster Card and the British Passport, Bon Jovi with a phallic hand-puppet and Dame Shirley Bassey in a large 70s paper lampshade. Watch here.
