Axed: Sitcom based on Harry Styles' life
The sitcom loosely based on Harry Styles’ early days with One Direction has been axed after just two months.
Happy Together – which airs on E4 – is about a 30-something happily married couple who reconnect with their younger, cooler selves when a young pop star moves in with them.
Starring Damon Wayans Jr, the show was inspired by the time young Styles, below, moved to London to live with his friend, the TV producer Ben Winston and his wife. He intended to stay for two weeks, but ended up there for the best part of two years.
Winston and Styles are executive producers on the show, which airs on CBS in the States, where it has been attracting a disappointing 4.7 million viewers on average.
The final two episodes in the debut series will air tonight and next Monday.
CBS always played down the links between the sitcom and its inspiration, saying: 'Although the series is inspired by when Ben and Harry lived together, that’s where the reality ends. The show is not based on real-life experiences and characters.’
Winston is also one of the executive producers of James Corden’s Late Late Show.
