James Acaster announces major tour for 2019
James Acaster has announced a mammoth tour for 2019, entitled Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999.
The comic is to play 50 dates between September 12, where the tour kicks off in Reading, and December 5, when it ends in Ipswich.
He explained how he named the show: ‘One time I bought a lasagne from the supermarket, heated it up in the oven and ate a bit of it and it wasn't very nice so I put it in the fridge because it felt wrong to dump a whole lasagne in the bin and then later on I ate a spoonful of the cold lasagne because I was drunk and it was absolutely delicious. It was 4am.
‘I then changed the name of a WhatsApp I was a part of to COLD LASAGNE HATE MYSELF 1999 because I had been thinking a lot about how 1999 was the best year of my life and also about how much I hate myself sometimes. The next day I was asked to name my new show. Come along.’
The announcement comes before Acaster performs a week-long run of the show at the Vaudeville Theatre in London’s West End from October 29, which has long sold out.
Acaster has been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award a record four times, and this year had four stand-up specials released on Netflix at the same time, under the banner Repertoire. A panel show regular, he is currently one of the contestants in series seven of Taskmaster.
Tickets for Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 go on sale at 10am tomorrow – click here for the full schedule.
