Comics sign up to Celebrity Call Centre
Comedians Mo Gilligan and Joel Dommett have signed up to be agony uncles on a celebrity-staffed helpline.
They are among the famous faces to have joined Celebrity Call Centre, a one-off show which will air on Channel 4 as part of its Stand Up To Cancer charity programming.
Also taking part are Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh, Made in Chelsea’s Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo, ‘queen of clean’ Kim Woodburn, dancer Louie Spence, Countdown’s Rachel Riley and Cuckoo actor Tyger Drew-Honey.
They’ll be advising callers on their problems such as getting through a break-up to extra-marital affairs, and the perils of online dating. Channel 4 says that in the process the stars 'will be opening up about their own life experiences and the challenges and heartache they’ve faced.
Commissioning editor Lee McMurray said: ‘As well as serving up a fascinating, funny and often moving snap shot of the modern-day dilemmas that trouble the nation, the beauty of the format is that it also encourages the celebrity agony aunts to open up, talking to members of the public in a way they never have before, and providing Channel 4 viewers with surprising revelations and touching insights into their real lives and personalities.’
