Comedians join Magic Mike Live
Comedians David Morgan and Samantha Baines have joined the cast of Magic Mike Live on the London stage.
The show is based on the movies starring Channing Tatum, and loosely based on his experiences as a stripper in Florida when he was 18. Tatum is also co-director of the live experience.
Opening on November 10, Magic Mike Live transforms the theatre at the London Hippodrome Casino into an intimate club where a group of artists will perform acrobatic stunts and dance routines.
Morgan will be the male MC of the show, but the publicist refused to state what Baines's role is, claiming it would spoil the surprise for audiences. 'Aas a matter of policy we don’t comment on specific roles with Magic Mike Live prior to opening,' she said.
She tweeted: 'So I've got a new job ....(Don't worry ladies I will personally inspect all the men's bodies for you)'.
The show has already been staged in Las Vegas, where USA Today called it 'the modern strip show we deserve'. Producers say it is 'made for a woman's gaze but directed at a woman's heart'.
And the UK transfer racked up advance sales of £4million in its first four days on sale - and is booking right thought to October 2019.
The rest of the cast comprises Jake Brewer, Harry Carter, Pip Hearse, Sophie Linder-Lee, Jack Manley,, Ross Sands, Dean Stewart, Manny Tsakanika and Aaron Daniel Ralph, Antonio Donadio, Sebastián Melo Taveira, Maxwell Trengove and Brian Siregar.
