Only Fools And Horses: The Musical

Sitcom adaptation 'set to hit the West End'

Lovely jubbly! Del Boy and Rodders are heading up West.

Only Fools And Horses is set to be turned into a stage musical, which will be presented at London’s Theatre Royal, Haymarket.

Jim Sullivan, the son of the hit sitcom’s original creator John, has written the show with Paul Whitehouse, according to the Daily Mail’s well-connected theatre correspondent Baz Bamigboye.

He reports that no contracts have yet been signed and that both the producers and the theatre are remaining tight-lipped about the project. But he says the show is due to open early next year.

Only Fools and Horses ran for seven series from 1981 to 1991, with 16 sporadic Christmas specials airing until 2003

The 1996 Christmas episode, Time On Our, Hands attracted 24.3million viewers, the highest British audience for a sitcom.

In its heyday, Sullivan was pitched the idea of an Only Fools and Horses stage show – but he wasn’t keen.
