Ten stand-up specials available to rent

Soho Theatre has launched a video-on-demand service offering stand-up specials from some of the rising star comedians who have played there.

Shows from Dane Baptiste, Mae Martin, Nish Kumar, Josie Long, Panti Bliss, Jessie Cave, Adam Hess, Rhys James, and Joel Dommett are now available to watch for £4 a time.

Several of the specials have previously been screened on Comedy Central, while Virgin TV subscribers can watch them via the on-demand service (but with an Ahih Shah special in place of Martin’s)

Mark Godfrey, Soho Theatre’s executive director, said the new service was a way of ‘extending the live experience to audiences who may not have the opportunity to visit our venue in person’.

He added: ‘As well as opening Soho’s comedy programme to as many people as possible, it’s also a way of collaborating with the stars of the future to build an invaluable archive of their work, preserving some brilliant early shows for them and their fans which previously would have been confined to history.’
