Jack Whitehall: Training Days is coming to YouTube
YouTube has announced the launch date for Jack Whitehall: Training Days, the first original content the streaming service has commissioned in Europe.
The show – which involves the comedian on adventures various world-class footballers – will launch on Whitehall’s YouTube channel at 6pm on May 9.
Episodes will feature Jack undertaking disastrous driving lessons with José Mourinho, visiting a haunted house with Dele Alli, play Bavarian bar games with Thomas Müller, shooting a perfume ad with Radamel Falcao, turning Gareth Bale into a waxwork, going undercover on Britain’s Got Talent auditions with Kyle Walker and taking on an extreme hot wing challenge with Raheem Sterling and rapper Big Narstie.
Whitehall said: ‘One of the great things about comedy is getting out of your comfort zone, so I certainly made it my job to get these football stars out of theirs.
‘It's been great working with them on Training Days and showing fans a different side to them. Filming this series has been a great warm-up to the World Cup.’
The series also features some of the YouTube’s most popular UK-based creators – Joe Sugg, Manny, Joe Wicks and The F2 Freestylers.
Six episodes will be released on a weekly schedule, with ‘mini-episode’ features put out between them.
Training Days has been made with Fulwell73, the production company where Whitehall’s League Of Their Own colleague James Corden is a partner.
YouTube executive Luke Hyams said the Google-owned chose the UK to make their first original programming in Europe ‘because we see that it’s a dynamic and incredible creative hub and has the second highest consumption of football-related content on YouTube anywhere in the world, after the US.’
