Simon Pegg and Nick Frost plan supernatural TV show

First project from their production company

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are set to make a TV series about paranormal investigators.

The friends, who first worked together on Spaced, have set up an independent production company called Stolen Picture.

And now they have told Hollywood bible Variety that their first venture will be the TV series Truth Seekers.
‘Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something,’ Pegg said.

‘ It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown

‘Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.’

No broadcaster has yet been announced for the show.

Pegg and Frost also worked together on the other films in the so-called Three Colours Cornetto trilogy: Hot Fuzz and The World’s End, all directed by Edgar Wright.

Stolen Picture’s first film will be the already announced  Slaughterhouse Rulez, a horror-comedy set in an Eton-style boarding school where children are groomed for greatness.

Now in post-production, the film is based on the idea that nearby fracking opens a mysterious sinkhole and unleashes an ‘unspeakable horror’, meaning pupils, teachers and the matron must battle for survival.

The film is directed by Crispian Mills, the former Kula Shaker singer who previously directed Pegg in A Fantastic Fear of Everything, and is based on a script he co-wrote with Henry Fitzherbert, the film critic for the  Sunday Express.
