Amazon passes on all its 2017 comedy pilots
Amazon has reportedly decided not not to pick up any of the three comedies it piloted last month.
Hollywood website Deadline reports that the streaming service’s studios arm has passed on Sea Oak, starring Glenn Close; Love You More with Bridget Everett and Diarra Kilpatrick’s The Climb, which all debuted on November 10,
Studio boss Roy Price, who greenlit the series, resigned less than a month earlier, following sexual harassment allegations made by a producer on Man in the High Castle.
Sea Oak starred Close as Aunt Bernie, who is killed in her home in a rough neighbourhood – only to return as a rage-filled zombie.
The Climb was about an office worker who dreamed of an escape through Kim Kardashian-style online fame; while Bobcat Goldthwait directed Everett in Love You More, about the messy personal life of a carer who works in a home for children with Down’s syndrome.
