League Of Gentlemen tour dates announced
Full details of the League Of Gentlemen live tour have been released.
Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss will play 18 dates in the summer of next year, starting on August 26 in Sunderland.
It includes a night at the Edinburgh Playhouse on August 30, three days after the Fringe ends, and three nights at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo in September
This is their first live show in more than 12 years and follows the three comeback specials they have filmed for BBC Two this Christmas.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale at 9am on Wednesday December 20.
In a statement, the team including co-writer Jeremy Dyson said: ‘The League of Gentlemen started as a live show over 20 years ago and in many ways performing in front of an audience gives us the biggest thrill of all.
‘We’re overjoyed to be taking the citizens of Royston Vasey on a road-trip and can’t wait to see all the wonderful local places in our increasingly local country.
‘Plus we’d already gone to the trouble of getting the costumes and learning the voices again for the TV show so we thought why not? Something to do isn’t it?’
Shearsmith broke the news of a tour in an interview earlier this week.
The League Of Gentlemen started as a live act in London’s Canal Cafe Theatre, with the team winning the Perrier at the 1997 Edinburgh Fringe. They subsequently toured several shows, releasing DVDs of their live performances in 2001 and 2005.
The three new League Of Gentlemen specials are due to be broadcast on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Click here for a gallery from the shows and here for interviews with the team.
