Felicity Ward shoots a Channel 4 Blap
Felicity Ward is making a Comedy Blap based on her anxiety issues and experience of having irritable bowel syndrome.
The British-based Australian comedian started filming the show yesterday, and she posted a photograph from the shoot across social media.
She captioned it: 'Guess who's filming their comedy #Blap today? If you liked my @netflixuk special, you might like this. Will be out soooooon on All 4! ARRRGHGHGH!'
Ward's Channel 4 short is based on her acclaimed 2016 Edinburgh show What If There Is Not Toilet and has the same name.
The stand-up show was also recorded as part of the Live At The BBC series, initially released on BBC Three's iPlayer channel. It's now available on the Netflix, which is what Ward's Instagram referred to.
Her Blap also stars Amy Beth Hayes, who played Kitty in Mr. Selfridge on ITV and is being directed by Tom McKay, who helmed Jack Whitehall's Backchat and three series of Drunk History for Comedy Central UK.
Released online, the last Comedy Blaps came out in February and featured Max & Ivan; Vicki Pepperdine and Jessica Knappett in a series from In Cahoots sketch duo Paul G Raymond and Luke Manning; Sherlock star Amanda Abbington in a one-off written by British comic Will Smith; and a series from Australian comedian Ryan Shelton.
The strand is an opportunity for the broadcaster to work with new comic talent at a lower cost than commissioning pilots.
