Trailer Park Boys star John Dunsworth dies
Trailer Park Boys star John Dunsworth has died at the age of 71 following a 'brief and unexpected illness’.
The actor played the frequently drunk trailer park supervisor Jim Lahey on the cult Canadian comedy series,.
His daughter Sarah – who also stars in the series as the character that shares her name – broke the news on social media.
She said: ‘With heavy and broken hearts the family of John F. Dunsworth would like to let people know that our amazing husband, father and grandfather John Dunsworth has passed away. John left this world peacefully after a short and unexpected illness."
The rest of the Trailer Park Boys posted on Twitter: ‘We’re in shock and heartbroken by the sudden loss of our dear friend John Dunsworth. We respect the family’s wishes for privacy at this time.’
Dunsworth had just finished shooting season 12 of the comedy, which is due to launch on Netflix next year.
He had been with the show since its first series in 2001, appearing in 99 episodes – including the upcoming ones – and all three spin-off films.
His other credits include playing the mysterious reporter Dave Teagues on Syfy’s supernatural drama series Haven.
