Comedy Central pilots new improv show
Jayde Adams is to pilot an improvised hidden-camera TV show featuring the stars of Impractical Jokers.
Comedy Central is piloting the half-hour show, which has the working title Say Whaaat? and which will guest star Russell Kane.
The format has been devised by James ‘Murr’ Murray from Impractical Jokers, and the pilot will feature his colleagues in the show Joe Gatto, Brian Quinn, and Sal Vulcano – otherwise known as comedy troupe The Tenderloins:.
Comedy Central says the guests will ‘combine their improvisation skills with direction from the audience to voiceover secretly shot footage of everyday conversations’.
‘It was an obvious step for us to commission our own show for Comedy Central created by Murr,’ said the broadcaster’s newly-promoted general manager Louse Holmes: ‘Improv is a really hot scene in the UK right now, so developing an improv format with stars of this calibre is an exciting step for the channel.
‘It’s part of our drive to explore more avenues to bring funny to our viewers as well as bring US and UK talent together.’
The show is being made by NorthSouth Productions, which also makes Impractical Jokers.
The pilot – which will be aired later this year – will be filmed in front of a live audience at the Tabernacle Theatre in London and tickets are available here.
