Tom Hanks' odd character returns for Halloween

Tom Hanks’s bizarre character David S. Pumpkins is to get his own show,

The creation when viral last year when he was introduced in a surreal Saturday Night Live sketch based in a haunted elevator.

Now the NBC network has ordered a Halloween-themed animated half-hour special, with Hanks again voicing the role.

Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage will also be lending his voice to the cartoon along with and sketch creators y Mikey Day, Bobby Moynihan.

 and SNL writer Streeter Seidell, the Hollywood trade press is reporting.

George Cheeks from the network said: ‘It’s scary how quickly the original SNL sketch caught on, and we’re thrilled that Tom Hanks is back to keep the fun going.’

The one-off will air in the States on Saturday October 28.
