The best of the week’s comedy on TV and radio.

Sunday July 9

THE CHASE: Comedian Dominic Holland is one of the contestants in a celebrity version of the quiz show. ITV, 6.30pm

Thursday July 13

THE PIN: The second series of Ben Ashenden and Alexander Owen’s inventive sketch show earned them the comedy gong at the BBC Radio Awards. And now they have been rewarded with an expanded running time - up from 15 minutes to 30 - and a better time slot. This opening episode of four has the pair trying to prove they are educational, with the usual existential flourishes. Radio 4, 6.30pm

DAPHNE SOUNDS EXPENSIVE: The sketch trio of Jason Forbes, Phil Wang and George Fouracres try to live up to their show’s title, by launching their second series by putting on a massive charity gala to raise money for the Black Country Hedgehog Sanctuary. And there’s even a full-on band, The Daphnettes (also known as the London Musical Theatre Orchestra). Radio 4, 11pm

Friday July 14

COUNT ARTHUR STRONG: The third series comes to an end with a trip to a safari park which, with typical melodrama, ‘turns into a terrifying battle for survival’. Graham Linehan and Steve Delaney’s sitcom has been winning acclaim, if not huge audiences for its primetime slot, with overnight figures around the 1,1 million mark.
