Seann Walsh has joined the cast of the new ITV1 sitcom Bad Move.

The series stars Jack Dee and Kerry Godliman as a married couple who decide to move to the countryside away from the rat race of the city.

And Walsh will also be appearing in the show when it airs this autumn, although details of his role have not yet been released.

He has posted images from the set on Instagram, with one of him and Dee captioned: 'Saw this man live at the Brighton Dome about 15 years ago. Now I'm in his new sitcom. He's a bit moody.....we get on.'

In another photo with director Martin Dennis, Walsh pointed out that he was wearing eyeliner because his character does.

Although best known for his appearances on stand-up and panel shows, Walsh is no stranger to acting, starring in the 2013 Comedy Central sitcom Big Bad World, playing a wayward monk in the 2014 sitcom plot Monks and starring in Sky’s silent comedy, Three Kinds of Stupid.

Dee is writing the show with Pete Sinclair, his collaborator on the BBC comedy Lead Balloon, and it revolves around the trials of the urbanites stuck in backwater with no internet and in a financial black hole after being ‘stitched up by unscrupulous estate agents, architects and builders,

The sitcom will be made by Open Mike, the TV production outfit that Dee part-owns and a sister company to comedy agency Off The Kerb, which represents both Dee and Walsh.

Meanwhile, Walsh has today announced two dates at the Leicester Square Theatre in London next year. He will be performing his One For The Road tour show at the venue on March 9 and 10, and tickets are on sale now.
