Adam Buxton and Jessica Hynes make cameos

Adam Buxton and Jessica Hynes are to make cameo appearances in the new series of The Crystal Maze. 

Buxton will play Jarhead – a head in a jar – in a game in the Futuristic Zone asking a player to solve a trio of riddles to release the all-important crystal.

And Spaced and Royle Family star Hynes plays The Knight defending the Medieval Zone.

The new series of The Crystal Maze kicks off on Friday June 23 on Channel 4, hosted by Richard Ayoade.

The first team to take on the maze will be celebrity contestants Ore Oduba, Vicky Pattison, Alex Brooker, Lydia Bright and Louie Spence, raising funds for Stand Up To Cancer.
