Iain Morris to remake a French farce

Inbetweeners co-creator Iain Morris is to remake a hit French comedy movie in English.

Babysitting was the most successful French comedy of 2014 and is about a young artist having a series of mishaps while looking after his arrogant boss’ child.

Set to film in New York later this year, it will be the first movie directed by Morris since the two successful Inbetweeners big-screen outings.

The adaptation is being written by Peter Hoare, most recently a writer on Kevin James’s US sitcom Kevin Can Wait, trade website Deadline reports.

The original film was directed by Nicolas Benamou and its star Phillippe Lacheau. Its success meant a sequel was released in 2015.
