Roseanne revival confirmed
The Roseanne reunion has been confirmed - with all the original cast.
And that includes both actors who played Roseanne’s daughter Becky.
Lecy Goranson will take the role for the eight-episode reboot, set to air on America’s ABC network in 2018.
While Sarah Chalke, who took over as Becky Conner in later seasons, will return, but as an another, as-yet undisclosed, character.
They join Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf and Michael Fishman in the revival.
Roseanne show originally ran for nine seasons from 1988 to 1997.
ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said: ‘The Conners' joys and struggles are as relevant, and hilarious, today as they were then, and there's really no one better to comment on our modern America than Roseanne.’
The show will also have to work around its previous storyline that Goodman’s character Dan had actually died and the final season was the product of Roseanne’s character’s writing a fantasy.
Barr has previously suggested that one fix would be that Dan had faked his own death.
Before all this, the sitcom had been praised for its realistic portrayal of working-class family life.
