THE FAKE NEWS SHOW:We’re not lying when we say the myth-busting comedy panel show returns following a pilot earlier this year. It features Stephen Mangan at the helm, and team captains Katherine Ryan and Richard Osman. Channel 4, 8.30pm
DARA O BRIAIN’S GO 8 BIT: O Briain returns alongside team captains Steve McNeil and Sam Pamphilon and resident expert Ellie Gibson for a new series of the celebrity videogaming gameshow, First up on the controllers are Richard Osman (again) and Sara Pascoe. And this time around it’s followed by the companion show DLC (which stands for downloadable content in the gaming world) with extra news and opinion. Dave, 10pm.
JUST A MINUTE: Back for another series, with Nicholas Parsons asking Paul Merton, Josie Lawrence, Graham Norton and Stephen Fry to speak for 60 seconds without repetition, deviation or hesitation. Radio 4, 6.30pm

SHAPPI TALK: Shappi Khorsandi, draws on her experience for an acerbic look at what it's like to go through divorce and to become an unexpected single mother in this show, first broadcast on Radio 4 in 2010. Celia Pacquola and Duncan Oakley guest. Radio 4 Extra, 10.30pm
8 OUT OF 10 CATS: Jimmy Carr returns for a 20th series of the panel show, with team captains Rob Beckett and Aisling Bea back for their second series. Jamali Maddix, Rachel Riley, Sara Pascoe and Tom Davis are the guests in the opening episode.
Wednesday May 17
YOUR FACE OR MINE: Both Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan have already featured in one panel show apiece this week… and now they are back with another. After a 13-year hiatus, Carr returns to the appearance-based game show, now revived by Comedy Central, in which couples are challenged to compare their looks with other people’s – and ultimately with each other’s – in this relationship-testing game. TONIGHT AT THE LONDON PALLADIUM Tom Allen is the comedy guest on this week’s variety extravaganza, hosted by Bradley Walsh. ITV, 8pm
Friday May 19
THE LAST LEG: Armando Iannucci guests as the show returns to Channel 4 with, as always, Adam Hills, Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe. 10pm.
BRIDGET & EAMON: The unhappily married Irish couple (played by Jennifer Zamparelli and Bernard O'Shea) return for a new series of the 1980s-set comedy, getting its UK premiere on UKTV Gold. The first two episodes of series two are screened in a double-bill from 11pm.
Saturday May 20
MIRANDA HART: FROM HAMPSHIRE TO HOLLYWOOD: Radio 4 Extra today celebrates the tenth anniversary of Miranda Hart's Joke Shop, the precursor to her eponymous TV sitcom which piloted on Radio 2 on May 26, 2007. A three-hour block features that first show alongside archive and familiar radio performances, accompanied by an interview with the woman herself.BBC Radio 4 Extra, 9am
