Ratings hit for Dave

Taskmaster attracted 523,000 viewers to Dave when it returned for its fourth series last night.

The figure represents twice the audience the channel usually averages in that 9pm slot.

Greg Davies and Alex Horne are joined by Hugh Dennis, Joe Lycett, Lolly Adefope and Bake Off hosts past and present Mel Giedroyc and Noel Fielding for the new run.

Last night’s first episode had been available on demand via UKTV Play for a week before transmission, which did not seem to dent the overnight Barb ratings.

Earlier this month it was announced that the show is getting a US remake, with Reggie Watts in the Taskmaster role and series creator Horne remaining as the sidekick.
