Ofcom won't be looking at Vic Reeves' penis
Ofcom says it will not investigate complaints about this year's Red Nose Day telethon
The watchdog received 338 complaints in total about last month’s broadcast – more than 100 of them about Vic Reeves’s prosthetic penis.
The prop peeked out from under his outfit as he and Bob Mortimer interviewed Susanna Reid in the guise of the Stotts.
Reid, who co-presents ITV's Good Morning Britain, later tweeted: ‘Well. That was an experience’ and explained she ‘wasn’t looking’. Although during the interview she said: ‘I don’t think I’m missing anything…’
Ofcom today announced it would not be launching a formal inquiry,, saying the comedy sketches were not explicit and in keeping with the ‘live, unpredictable format’ .
Other viewers complained about swearing, especially during the 'innuendo bingo' section and a sketch featuring Mrs Brown. Russell Brand also responded to a technical glitch by saying ‘fucking hell’ live on air.
The telethon raised more than £73million for Comic Relief.
