He'll narrate The Willoughbys

Ricky Gervais has signed up to a forthcoming children’s film.

The comic will narrate the animated movie  The Willoughbys, based on the 2010 bool by Lois Lowry.

It tells of four children abandoned by their parents who must adapt their traditional values to the contemporary world. It is described as a parody of old-fashioned kids’ book with a streak of dark humour.

Producer Brenda Gilbert of Bron Animation said: ‘Ricky has such a distinctive voice and his talents will make an exceptional contribution to the edgy tone that we are going for with The Willoughbys,.

Sister company Bron Studios previously made Gervais’s Netflix flim Special Correspondents.
