The best of the week's live comedy

The best of the week's live comedy.

Monday April 3

LONDON: There's an unbeatable line-up at the Comedy Store as Sarah Millican's online magazine Standard Issue holds a fundraiser for Rape Crisis. She stars alongside her comedy pals Joe Lycett, Katherine Ryan, Romesh Ranganathan, Sally-Anne Hayward, Sara Pascoe, Tom Allen and Zoe Lyons.

LONDON: Adam Kay has made his name as a musical comedian, but before that he was a junior doctor. In his latest show Fingering A Minor On The Piano, he combines the two, with song snippets as innuendo-laden as the title suggests with brilliantly entertaining stories from his time on the wards – as well as a heartfelt plea on behalf of the NHS. He's at the Soho Theatre from tonight until April 15. Review

Thursday April 6

BIRMINGHAM: Smart stand-up from astute Nick Doody and dumb stand-up from the hilariously schlubby Mike Wilmot make the perfect chalk-and-cheese combination at the Glee all weekend.

LONDON: Kevin Eldon and Simon Munnery lead the parade of alternative comedy acts trying experimental things at the intimate Museum Of Comedy tonight. Jenny Bede, Pat Cahill and William Andrews will be joining them.

ASHBY-DE-LA-ZOUCH: His sitcom, Hospital People, is soon to start on BBC One, but tonight hapless DJ Ivan Brackenbury is on at the Funhouse comedy night at the Lyric Rooms, alongside the neurotic Josh Howie, droll social commentator Nathan Caton and regular host Spiky Mike.

MOLD: Accomplished stand-up veteran Fred MacAulay is joined by sharp and offbeat Peter Brush in Theatre Clywd tonight. Another circuit stalwart, Silky, MCs.

Friday April 7

LEEDS: Tim Key, E4's Gap Year star and poet who's forged a distinctive comedy voice, headlines a varied bill at the Group Therapy Night at Headrow House. Dark sketch group Gein's Family Giftshop and much-tipped emerging comic Alasdair Beckett-King are in support, with hilariously grumpy Michael Legge as MC.

Saturday April 8

ABERDEEN: Susan Calman's long hard, self-deprecating look at herself, The Calman Before The Storm, comes to the Lemon Tree.
