Sarah Silverman becomes a talk-show host
Sarah Silverman is entering the topical comedy talk show game.
American on-demand service Hulu has picked up her programme I Love You, America for ten episodes.
It is being made by Funny Or Die, Will Ferrell and Adam MacKay's company known for its web content.
According to industry website Deadline, the comedian will put her anti-Trump sentiments behind her in an attempt to present a 'balanced' show, with Silverman 'looking to connect with people who may not agree with her personal opinions through honesty, humour, genuine interest in others, and not taking herself too seriously'.
Hulu follows Netflix into the talk-show market, with a second series of Chelsea Handler's Chelsea launching as a weekly show on April 14 – and with Eddie Izzard on board to help explain Brexit.
Earlier this month it was announced that Jim Jefferies was also to join the ranks of late-night topical hosts, with Comedy Central commissioning ten half-hour episodes for this summer.
