Britain to get Zach Galifianakis's Baskets

The UK’s Fox network has brought the rights to Baskets, the US TV show in which Zach Galifianakis plays a failed clown.

The comedian created the series with Louis CK, who makes it through his Pig Newton production company. It has just been recommissioned for a third series by America’s FX channel.

In the series Hangover star Galifianakis plays Chip Baskets, who fails to get a degree at a prestigious clowning school in Paris and winds up stuck with a job at a local rodeo in his hometown of Bakersfield, California. 

He also plays Chip’s twin brother Dale, while Louie Anderson won an Emmy award last year for her role as the pair’s mother.

Fox UK previously aired Louis CK’s series Louie and Donald Glover’s acclaimed comedy Atlanta as well as the animated shows Family Guy and American Dad.

Baskets will launch in the UK at 10.30pm on April 13. Here is a trailer:
