New comedy from Nick Frost and Simon Pegg
Nick Frost and Simon Pegg are working on a secret new comedy project.
Details of the idea are scant, but Frost suggested he wants to do something in the sci-fi genre.
‘Simon and I are working on something,’ he told website Inverse. ‘We’re trying to do something a bit special at the moment. It’s a work in progress, and we may have some more information on it later in the year.
‘I think I’d [want] to do something in the sci-fi world. Something a bit ghost hunter-y, or a bit Monster of the Week in a comedy. With two guys and a girl, it’s like the X-Files, but they’re not affiliated with any government agency.’
And he said that despite their track record he and Pegg were ‘still made to jump through hoops’ to get a project off the ground.
The pair met in the 1990s and their professional association started with the Channel 4 sitcom, Spaced. With director Edgar Wright, the three created the so-called Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy of Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End.
Pegg and Frost also appeared together in the 2011 movie Paul, about a roadtrip with an extraterrestrial, which did not involve Wright.
