Comic apologises for mocking cancer patient's 'Nazi' haircut
American comedian Samantha Bee has apologised after accidentally mocking a young cancer victim.
A report on her Full Frontal TBS show focussed on the right-wing Conservative Political Action Conference, with a narrator pointing out the 'Nazi hair' of many of those attending the event.
But one of the people featured in the filmwas Kyle Coddington, a 20-year-old student and writer who was diagnosed with brain cancer late last year.
He has undergone his first round of chemotherapy and radiation, and said: 'The side effects of these treatments include weight gain and hair loss. Due to the hair loos I chose to cut my hair as it was seen on on Full Frontal With Samantha Bee last night. Although it is not my preferred style, I am thankful I still have most of my hair.'
The programme – but not Bee herself – subsequently tweeted an apology and donated $1,000 towards Coddington's treatment. However that has not satisfied him
We deeply apologize for offending @_that_kyle in our CPAC segment. We only learned of his condition today & have removed him from the piece.

Although thanking the programme for their donation, he said: 'The effects of the comments made on Full Frontal go further than my battle with a serious illness. Everyone in that video was targeted unjustly and profiled without any of the accusations made.'
Coddington said he is a registered Democrat and was also part of the Republican 'Never Trump' campaign to try to stop the current President getting to the White House.
He added: 'These are the facts that disprove the narrative trying to be pushed by Samantha Bee's segment; and these are facts that make me who I am.
'Samantha Bee tweeted an apology for "offending" me, but I want to make clear that half-apologising for offending someone is not apologising fro making baseless accusations against people because of the way they look. That kind of behaviour should be rejected by both sides of the aisle.'
Coddington also directed a tweet directly at Bee yesterday, saying: 'Please delete this episode. I look like a balding potato.'
The programme has now removed that section from the web, although it is still available online – including on Outset magazine, a libertarian and conservative outlet to which Coddington contributes
Even before the conference, Coddington made a joke about his own haircut, likening it to a prominent white supremacist. He wrote: 'People who will be attending CPAC, a heads up...my hair style slightly resembles Richard Spencer's but at least I have an excuse...cancer
