Newspaper thinks Alec Baldwin IS Donald Trump
Apology over photo mix-up
He's not going to like this…
President Trump has always been quick to show his upset at Alec Baldwin's blustering portrayal of him on Saturday Night Live.
And now a Dominican Republic newspaper has had to apologise – after running a photo of the exaggerated spoof in the belief it was the real thing.
El Nacional pictured the actor in his Saturday Night Live get-up next to a photo of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an article about Israeli settlements.
The newspaper later said: 'El Nacional apologises to its readers and anyone who felt affected by the publication'
Baldwin returned as host last night for a record-breaking 17th time.
During his skit as Trump, he imagined the President taking the legal fight over his much-contested travel ban to the TV show The People's Court.
'You understand this is a TV court?' the judge asked. 'That's OK, I am a TV president,' he replied.
He also said: 'I signed a tremendous travel ban, I didn't read it, I signed it.'
A shirtless Vladimir Putin appear in support of Trump, who he called 'my American happy meal.'
Melissa McCarthy also returned to the show as White House spokesman Sean Spicer – a portrayal said to have angered the President who thinks it demeaning his mouthpiece is played by a woman.
Trump has frequently tweeted aboutSaturday Night Live, saying in December, for example: 'Just tried watching Saturday Night Live - unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can't get any worse. Sad.'
