One of the guest hosts of ITV's high-profile project

John Bishop is to be one of the hosts of ITV’s new high-profile entertainment programme The Nightly Show.

David Walliams and Gordon Ramsay have previously been announced as presenters for the series, which will be stripped over five nights a week for an eight week run and feature a different big-name host each week.

ITV are even shifting the 10pm news to make way for the show, which promises ‘a high tempo mixture of topical monologue, studio games, celebrity guests, experts and videos’.

Bishop said: ‘The Nightly Show is a great concept and I like the idea of doing something completely different for a week. 

‘I also like the idea of the rotating hosts and following David Walliams means I can have all the beauty products he leaves in the dressing room.’

The Nightly Show will be recorded ‘as live’ at 6pm each day in a central London location from this spring, and ITV says other hosts will be announced soon.
