Still Game duo working on series 8
Still Game creators Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill are planning a new series of their sitcom to air later this year.
The pair say they are ‘pretty positive’ about getting a green light from the BBC within the next few months.
It would be the eight series about the Craiglang pensioners – and the second to be networked across BBC One. Last year’s season attracted between 3 and 4.3million viewers to the channel.
As the pair prepare for a new live show at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro from Saturday, Hemphill told The Scotsman: ‘The BBC has been making noises and saying they’re keen
And Kiernan added: ‘We’re pretty positive that it will be green-lit for this year. We’ve got plenty of ideas.’
The new live show is called Bon Voyage, leading to speculation that this is the end for Jack and Victor, which appears to be wide of the mark.
But unlike their 2014 reunion outing, which ran for 21 nights at the venue, this stage show is not being filmed for TV or DVD release.
Hemphill told STV: ‘We found with the show the last time around the people who watched it on TV something had got lost in translation so we really wanted to make it unique
