'It's the worst!'
Thin-skinned Donald Trump has launched another sulky attack on Saturday Night Live. The American comedy institution mercilessly mocked the President-Elect during this week's show, with references to the allegations that Russia held compromising information on his sexual practices.
But yesterday the man who is about to become leader of the free world again took to Twitter to grumble about the satire.
'.@NBCNews is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC,' he complained. 'Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!'
Incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer has also turned on the show, branding it a 'left-wing hit piece'. Appearing on Fox News over the weekend, he griped: 'Those aren't jokes. They're inappropriate…I think for a lot of people, regardless of your political persuasion, that's not what you're tuning in for.'
It is not the first time, Trump has complained about the show. Before his surprise election victory, he claimed that it was part of a media conspiracy 'rigging' the election against him.
'Watched Saturday Night Live hit job on me,' he tweeted in October. 'Time to drop the boring and unfunny show. Alec Baldwin portrayal stinks. Media rigging election!'' In the 'cold open' to this weekend's show, Alec Baldwin returned to the role of Trump, mocking his alleged links with Vladimir Putin, the lack of stars at his inauguration on Friday and the reports of his 'big Russian pee-pee party', with plenty of innuendos about the 'shower of jobs' he has vowed for America.
