New Arrested Development 'really close'
A FIFTH series of Arrested Development is ‘really close’ to being agreed, executive producer Brian Grazer has revealed. ‘All of the actors have agreed to do it and I think they’ve agreed to their compensation structure,’ he told The Wrap. ‘It should be happening soon.’ The new series, like the last, will be for Netflix.
COMIC RELIEF is set to launch in Ireland with a gala show at the 3Arena on St Patrick’s Day. Dara O Briain and Patrick Kielty are rumoured to be taking part in the event, which may be broadcast on RTE.
THE line-up has been announced for the Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year competition at the city’s comedy festival. Alasdair Beckett-King, Alex Mahone, Ed Night, George Rigden, Kelly Convey, Sindhu Vee, Tom Houghton and Tom Mayhew will be competing for the title on February 25. Previous winners include Josh Widdicombe, Johnny Vegas and Jason Manford.
OXFORD’S Bullington venue is to become a comedy club. Nothing to do with the notoriously elitist drinking club that David Cameron and Boris Johnson once belonged to, it is a cocktail bar and venue in Cowley which will host the city’s Glee Club from this weekend. The club was forced out of its former purpose-built home after landowner Nuffield College struck a multi-million pound deal for the redevelopment of the site.
KEN LOACH’s award-winning I, Daniel Blake – which has won comedian Dave Johns much acclaim for his lead role as an out-of-work joiner – is to be released on DVD on February 27, it has been announced. Preorder here.
