One-off for Channel 5

Jo Brand is to front a one-off show called Kitten Rescuers for Channel 5.

The comic joined RSPCA inspectors, vets and volunteers for the show, which will air at on December 28.

Channel 5 factual commissioner Sean Doyle said: ‘I’m really looking forward to giving cat lovers the opportunity to see the great work the RSPCA do for our feline friends.’

The commission follows the success of The Dog Rescuers, fronted by Brand’s pal and Damned co-star Alan Davies, which averages 1.4million viewers.

That show has also just been commissioned for two more series, totalling 32 episodes, to air in 2017 and 2018.

Both shows are made by Middlechild Productions
