F-bomb at 9.30am

Absolute Radio has been rapped after Frank Skinner played an offensive song on his Saturday-morning show.

The comic played the track Narwhal by Xylaroo, which features the lyrics ‘And I’m so fucked. This lake is looking fucking big’ at about 9.30am on his show on October 1.

One listener complained to regulators Ofcom, which today ruled that Absolute Radio broke the broadcasting code of conduct.

The station ’regrettably' agreed with the ruling and  apologised for what it described as ‘a genuine mistake from a team with an unblemished record in this area’.

Bosses have promised to introduce an extra layer of monitoring to try to avoid a repetition of such an incident.
