Iain Stirling wins a kids' Bafta
Iain Stirling, the comedian who narrates one of TV’s raunchiest shows, has won a Children’s Bafta.
The comic scooped the award for best presenter for his CBBC panel show, The Dog Ate My Homework.
His victory comes on the fourth time of being nominated.
Former Chortle Student Comedy Award winner Stirling, 28, has been growing his adult fan base as narrator of ITV’s Love Island.
Also at last night ceremony’s Horrible Histories added to their long tally of awards, scooping the comedy prize for their Sensational Shakespeare special, released to mark the 400th anniversary of the Bard’s death in April.
Comic actor Tom Stourton played the playwright; while other familiar comedy faces in the core cast included Jessica Ransom, Thom Tuck and Gemma Whelan.
Mel Giedroyc, Miles Jupp and Jon Culshaw were among those making guest appearances, while writers included Steve Punt and Dave Cohen.
The team behind the historical sketch show saw off nominees including The Dog Ate My Homework to take the prize.
The Baftas were handed out at the Roundhouse in London last night.
